Staff plan activities for the children in ways which will build on children’s responses and approaches to new experiences, their previous experiences and what motivates them. Knowing what a child is showing a particular interest in and often passionate about is vital when planning, as this is what motivates a child to develop their skills and to explore and experiment.

This means planning experiences, which builds on children’s interests and what they can already do as well as addressing their anxieties and meeting their needs. We plan for children’s holistic learning and development, supporting them to expand their capabilities, and enabling them to become resilient, emotionally strong human beings.

We encourage parents to share information about their child’s learning and development at home. Portfolios and link books are accessible at all times to parents and children.
